Administrative & Program Officers

VIRGINIA T. DAVID
VP Finance & Accounting

Virgie is SELF’s most senior staff member. Though she has a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, she devoted her life to the cause of the Foundation since its inception in 1992. She first took reigns as an admin staff and later trained to handle the accounting operations. In 2004, she was appointed as Vice President for Finance & Accounting and member of the Management Committee. She also serves the Board of Trustees as its Secretary.

SOCORRO L. AVERILLA
Admission & Marketing Manager

Sockie joined the organization in 2001 as an admin secretary and later served the President as an Executive Secretary. While she too has a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, she chose to hone her skills in heading the Foundation’s Secretariat, finding her rightful place in the Fund Raising Committee. In 2005, she was appointed as the Admissions & Marketing Manager and member of the Management Committee.

LEA P. TUMBADO, RSW
Program Manager

Lea is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. She took a TC Immersion Course in 2004 and, with her vast experience in handling abuse cases, was assigned as a Caseload Supervisor. In 2007, she was appointed to the Management Committee as the Program Operations Manager.

EILEEN P. SIMBULAN
Clinical & Admin Manager

Lyn joined SELF in 2003 as a clinical staff and took a TC Immersion Course. With her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, she was then assigned as a Caseload Supervisor and in 2007, she was appointed to the Management Committee as the Clinical Operations Manager. Lyn also takes charge of the Pre-admission Unit where she conducts the Intake Assessments of new admissions.

JOSE KARLO T. ALILING
Program Head

Karlo is a graduate of the SELF program. He has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and spent six months training in the TC Resident Development Office during his undergraduate status. In 2007, he was assigned as the Program Head where he supervises the operations of the TC Program. In 2008, he received an additional appointment to head the Media Department in the facility.

ROMIGER I. BUCONG
Caseload Supervisor

Mai joined SELF in October 2007 and took a six month training course in handling Intake Interviews at the Preadmission Unit. In 2008, she was assigned to take charge of the Senior resident Caseloads. She has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology with MA units in social work. Prior to SELF, she worked two years as a pre-school teacher in Malaysia and later spent three years as a Casual Psychologist with the Department of Social Welfare.

MIRASOL G. LAURETA
Caseload Supervisor

Sol joined SELF in October 2007 and took a six month training course in handling Intake Interviews at the Preadmission Unit. In 2008, she was assigned to take charge of the Junior resident Caseloads. She has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and gained experience working as a College Guidance Counselor at the Asian Institute of Computer Science, and later as a Senior Psychometrician for the Philippine National Police.

MARLOU B. SIMANGON, RSW
Caseload Supervisor

Marlou joined SELF in October 2008 and took a six month training course in handling Intake Interviews at the Preadmission Unit. In 2009, she was assigned to take charge of part of the Junior resident Caseloads. She is a Certified Social Worker with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and is a Bachelor of Law. Prior to SELF, she worked with juvenile delinquents at the Department of Social Welfare for one year.

ABIGAIL S. LEYNES, RN
Facility Nurse

Abigail joined SELF in June 2009 and currently serves as its Facility Nurse. She is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. In 2010, she was appointed an additional task Head of Facility Admin Operations. Prior to SELF, she took jobs as a private nurse for one year.
